How Files Are Processed
ClickFileConvert separates browser-based tools, planned server-powered tools, and file-format guides so you can understand what happens before choosing a file.
Browser-Based Tools
For available browser tools, the converter code loads into your browser. When you choose a file, the browser reads it locally, performs the conversion or edit, and creates a downloadable result. The file does not need to be uploaded to a ClickFileConvert server.
Examples of Local Tools
- Merge PDF, split PDF, rotate PDF, watermark PDF, sign PDF, and edit PDF.
- Convert images between JPG, PNG, and WebP where browser support allows it.
- Resize, crop, rotate, and compress images.
- Convert or format text data such as CSV, JSON, XML, YAML, Markdown, and Base64.
Server-Powered Tools
Some advanced conversions, such as high-quality PDF to Word, OCR, video conversion, audio conversion, and Office document conversion, need backend processing. These pages are marked as coming soon until a reliable and transparent server workflow exists.
Format Guides
Some file types are not safe or useful to upload into a general converter. Executables, installers, system packages, and databases can contain private data or executable code. Those pages explain the format instead of pretending to convert it.
Before You Convert
Always keep a backup of important files, review the downloaded output, and use the right tool for the format. Start from all tools or browse PDF tools and image tools.
